DFA just got back from an awesome visit with Cornell’s emerging studio group as they get ready for their applications. The core team of about 12 students committed over 8 hours to the planning and execution of this ideation weekend to hash out some of their ideas for gaining access to fresh food for both the Cornell and Ithaca community!
So why is Cornell ripe for DFA? Well for starters, aside from having incredibly smart students, they have a university with students from all different majors including a focus on design. In their Design and Environmental Analysis department they offer three options:
- Interior Design
- Facility Planning and Management
- Human Factors and Ergonimics
After meeting and speaking with students and faculty from their design program, I’ve learned that students are hungry to get their hands on some real world design experience as well as work on interdisciplinary teams. What better way to do this than through Design for America? That’s right. They’ll now be working on their applications to attend this summer’s DFA Leadership Studio in preparation for an official DFA Cornell Studio in the Fall! Go Cornell, we’re rooting for you guys!
