APPLICATION COUNTDOWN: 6 DAYS!! This made our day to get an update from Stanford’s team on their applications. Check out the summary below sent to us by one of the student leaders, Aidan Baker. Really excited to see the projects that come out of it and get to learn more from these awesome students!
Design for America at Stanford University is off and running! After a successful kickoff workshop facilitated by DFA guests from Northwestern University, we have had two subsequent meetings to discuss our organizational goals, projects for the quarter, and DFA application. We have chosen three problem areas to concentrate on for the remainder of spring quarter and going on into the summer: bicycle allocation (specifically the lack of a bicycle donation program for graduating seniors), general health on campus, and homelessness in the bay area. Individual project groups are beginning to meet on their own, and there is a group of students focusing solely on completing the materials for the DfA application. We’re particularly excited to have many DFA members staying on campus over the summer, and we should be able to accomplish a great deal with that time. Enthusiasm couldn’t be higher, and we’re all dedicated to seeing DFA established here at Stanford in the Fall!
