We are excited to announce our new partnership with the James Dyson Foundation!
JDF wants to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers. Aligning with DFA’s mission and values, they encourage young people to try new things, learn through building and solve big problems.
The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. The Award is open to current and recent design engineering students.
This year marks the 8th year of the award and the prompt is “Design something that solves a problem.” With chances to win up to $45,000 the are taking projects at all stages of development, the Dyson award is looking for ANY student-led solution to ANY problem. Have a project you’ve been working on? Apply by July 2nd!
The James Dyson Award Ambassador Program
The Foundation is also opening up a new James Dyson Award Ambassador program to help spread the word about the competition on campuses. Top Ambassadors have a chance to win a James Dyson vacuum or fan, learn more about the industry, and connect with fellow ambassadors throughout the US.
Where DFA Comes In
DFAers have tackled over 120 social challenges this year. We hope more DFA projects will apply for the award, practice getting their ideas out there and begin their path to implementation. Stay tuned for more updates on DFA submitted projects!
