Jerry the Bear Team Moving to Providence, RI to Incubate Project
It all started last year, when the Jerry the Bear team decided it was time to bring Jerry to life. They took an independent study with Northwestern Professor Michael Peshkin and built a bear that could talk– bringing them one step closer to improving the lives of children with diabetes.
As a result of their hard work and dedication, team-member, Aaron Horowitz was awarded the Dell Social Innovation Fellowship based out of Brown University in Providence, RI. Here Aaron was greeted with hospitality and an eager network of support. We are now thrilled to announce that Brown University’s Director of Social Entrepreneurship, Alan Harlem, has invited team-leads Hannah Chung and Aaron Horowitz back to Providence to incubate the project. The team will be packing their bags and moving in this winter with the goal of building 10 works-like prototypes and starting clinical trials in the spring. Stay tuned to see what happens next and spend a little time getting to know Jerry:
