Sponsored projects enable valuable interactions among different stakeholders to address timely social innovation initiatives important to corporate partners. Company experts and DFA National staff provide feedback and guidance through check-in calls and online tools. Project teams immerse in the problem through interviews and observations, identify key insights, and create works-like prototypes in just 10 weeks.
In Fall 2016, Medline Industries kicked off a sponsored project with DFA to innovate independent mobility solutions for older adults. Five teams from DFA studios around the country partnered with local rehab centers and senior living facilities to dive into a fast-paced design process. In less than 10 weeks, each team immersed into the problem through interviews and observations, developed key insights, and created works-like prototypes.
