The Northwestern DFA studio was the flagship studio, beginning in spring of 2009.  Since then, the studio has grown to over 80 enthusiastic and creative members.  In the 2011-2012 school year, DFA Northwestern students joined together to tackle big social problems including Food Waste, Electricity Waste, Physical Therapy compliance, and many more. In the spring of 2012, Northwestern DFA hosted the first inter-DFA design competition, with the prompt ‘Design a game to create social change’.  The community at Northwestern continues to grow and develop as the studio continues to strive for huge social impact in the Evanston and greater Chicago communities.
