RISD | Brown

The RISD/Brown Design for America Studio was started in 2011 as a result of students looking for tangible ways to apply their education to solving problems in their community. Thanks to the academic talents of Brown University students coupled with the creativity and ingenuity of Rhode Island School of Design students, the RISD/Brown DFA Studio features superpower teams of students studying everything from political science to graphic design to mechanical engineering, and has worked collaboratively to tackle issues such as childhood lead poisoning, dyslexia, and healthy food access. In their upcoming year, they aim to continue to identify opportunities to apply their collaborative design thinking skills, actively engage and work with the Providence community, and grow the Design for America family on both campuses.
